Our Commitment
At Do-Re-Ci-Pe, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information. We keep it simple because privacy policies shouldn't require a law degree to understand.
What We Collect
Photos You Take
When you snap a photo of your fridge, pantry, or receipts, we process those images to identify ingredients. When you use AI features, relevant photos, recipe text, preferences, and conversation content are sent to the services that process your request. Saved recipe content is stored in the app.
Recipe Data
Recipes you save, ingredients you mark, and cooking preferences help us personalize your experience. Saved recipes are stored on your device and may sync through Apple iCloud when available. AI features send the relevant context needed to process your request; saved recipes remain usable offline.
Usage Information
Usage and diagnostic information helps operate and improve the app. Some service requests use persistent app or device identifiers, including for subscription entitlements, usage limits, and abuse prevention. We do not describe all usage information as anonymous.
Optional Advertising Measurement
Starting with version 1.3.2, if you allow tracking through Apple's permission prompt, the Meta SDK shares app activation events and device, app, network, and SDK information with Meta to measure which ads bring people to Do-Re-Ci-Pe. This information can be associated with identifiers and used for advertising measurement. Our integration disables collection of the advertising identifier (IDFA) and automatic purchase logging. We do not send recipes, photos, dietary preferences, voice audio, or transcripts to Meta.
Meta app-event measurement is not initialized before tracking authorization. Apple's SKAdNetwork may separately provide privacy-preserving, aggregate install attribution without this permission. Declining tracking does not restrict app features. Change your choice in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security > Tracking, or use Advertising Measurement Settings in the app.
Device Information
Basic device data (iOS version, device type) helps us optimize performance and fix bugs.
What We DON'T Collect
- We don't sell your data. Ever.
- We don't track your location.
- We don't require personal information to use the app.
- We don't share recipe content, photos, or voice conversations with Meta.
- Optional Meta advertising measurement requires Apple tracking authorization.
How We Use Your Data
- Recipe Generation: Your photos are processed by AI to identify ingredients and create recipes.
- Personalization: We learn your preferences to suggest better recipes over time.
- App Improvement: Usage and diagnostic information helps us fix bugs and build better features.
- Subscription Services: App identifiers and purchase information help manage subscriptions and creation allowances.
- Advertising Measurement: With tracking authorization, app events and identifiers help measure our Meta advertising.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. Recipe data lives primarily on your device and may sync through iCloud. Online AI, subscription, security, and optional measurement features send relevant information to service providers. Their handling and retention are subject to their applicable policies.
Your Rights
- Access: You can view all your saved recipes and data in the app.
- Delete: Delete saved recipes in the app. Contact us about data held by our services.
- Export: Export your saved recipes in a standard format.
- Tracking Choice: Allow or decline optional Meta tracking and change that permission in iOS Settings.
Third-Party Services
We use trusted third-party services for specific functions:
- AI Processing: OpenAI processes the relevant images, text, and live conversation content for the AI features you use.
- App Services: Google Firebase supports backend requests, app configuration, and App Check security.
- Subscriptions: Apple and RevenueCat help process purchases and manage entitlements and usage allowances.
- Advertising Measurement: Meta receives optional, consent-gated app measurement information as described above. See Meta's Privacy Policy.
- Cloud Storage: Apple iCloud may sync your saved app data between your devices.

Children's Privacy
Do-Re-Ci-Pe is designed for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally. When we do, we'll notify you in the app and update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of Do-Re-Ci-Pe after changes means you accept the updated policy.

The Short Version
We only collect what we need to make Do-Re-Ci-Pe work well. Your photos are processed by AI services when you use those features. Saved recipes work offline and may sync through iCloud. Meta advertising measurement is optional and does not receive your recipes or voice conversations. We never sell your information.
